Day 1 of my travels:
was yesterday!
I made the (not-so-giant) leap from Houston, TX to Newport News, VA. My flights were mostly uneventful, as I’d stayed up the entire night before saying goodbye to all of my amazing friends back at Rice for the end of the year. I will miss them all so much, but I can’t wait to hear their summer stories when we return!
After two flights and a layover in Atlanta, GA, I arrived in the Newport News/Williamsburg airport. My best friend Brian picked me up and he drove me to William and Mary’s campus, where I spent the night. Just like old times, we went to Aroma’s for lunch and on the way I saw some old friends, Maggie and John! What a beautiful coincidence. Later in the evening I spent some time on Skype with my Rice friends, which was wonderful. Then Sameer and I spent some quality time before everyone headed off to bed.
Rule #1 with traveling: DON’T FORGET THINGS. I forgot my sweater at lunch and then my credit card at dinner - oops! Don’t ever do that. You’ll save yourself a lot of stress and freakouts if you keep yourself together. And if you do happen to forget something anywhere, don’t panic. Give the place you think you left it a call, they more than likely are keeping it in a safe place for when you come back.
